NEW RELEASE
Catalyze Your Innovation Flow - Five Qualities To Dissolve Bottlenecks
We share with you our second narrative a 5-min short animation. Together, let’s find flow and unlock your organization’s innovation potential!
Organizations have been streamlining their innovation processes for decades using methodologies such as Lean Startup, Agile, Design thinking, etc. While these methods certainly work, we often see new problems cropping up, only to slow the process down again. Whether it’s a problem of alignment, communication, collaboration, or efficiency, these slow-downs create “innovation bottlenecks.” Bottlenecks can form at any stage in the innovation process, as the idea moves from ideation to execution. Very often, it’s too late before someone identifies them and ends up costing time and resources for the organization with no tangible outcome to show for the effort.
Why does this happen? Primarily because job roles in organizations are usually based on functional skills, budget allocations, and quarterly KPIs. Nobody is responsible or incentivized to fix things in between disciplines or functions. Organizations wishing to scale innovation need an integrated design capability to develop new ideas; a person or team that can effectively streamline the flow of ideas through the innovation pipeline. Organizations need what we at Khoj Lab refer to as innovation catalysts.
What makes good innovation catalysts? What skills and qualities do you look for when hiring or upskilling your workforce as innovation catalysts? Where might we place catalysts within an organization so that they can target innovation bottlenecks? Through interviews with innovation leaders and our own experience in designing innovation flows, Khoj Lab has framed “five skills and qualities” that innovation catalysts need in order to integrate into an organizational workflow.
I want to explore this with my team/ organization.
